This USB-2 driver (for Win XP and later) can be used with the USB-2 drive controller produced by Western Digital (WD25) and StorCenter (the WD SLC1).

WD USB-2 driver for Windows (for WD SLC1)

This USB-2 driver enables the use of WD hard drives and WD My Book series devices in USB-2 systems.

If you have problems installing the driver, the first step is to verify that you have the latest drivers and patches for your system. You can download drivers for your specific system (see the links below) or use one of these drivers.
Windows 2000 and Windows XP 32-bit

On Windows 2000 and XP 32-bit systems, we recommend you install the latest service pack for your system from Microsoft.
If the installation of the driver fails, this is a good starting point for solving installation problems.
Windows Vista and later

On Windows Vista and later, the installation is automatic and, if the installation fails, Windows will provide detailed information on the cause of the failure.
Linux

On Linux, the installation of the driver is automatic. If the installation fails, you can start the installation with the ``--force`` option.
